JEWISH GERMAN RECONCILIATION

Our workshops, delegations, presentations and speaking engagements come out of our work with the Jewish-German Project. Since the project began in 2002, we have been giving workshops and presentations/speaking engagements sharing the power and hope of this peace making work. WORKSHOPS: “The Path of Reconciliation”

What is reconciliation for you? Do you understand the suffering of both sides? Have you ever been deeply heard? We invite you to participate in this ground-breaking peace work between Jews and Germans to hear each others’ stories and experience our shared humanity.

You will practice and learn the skills of Compassionate Listening, gain a deeper understanding of the Jewish-German relationship, and re-humanize the “other.” Learn to work with your own internal conflicts and judgments to become instruments of reconciliation and peace.

Our workshops are offered in one and two day formats. Please let us know if you would be interested in attending one of our workshops, or if you’d like us to come to your community and offer a workshop there.

DELEGATIONS: Compassionate Journey

We invite participants who have a genuine interest in reconciliation and personal healing. The Compassionate Journey will be an intensive training in Compassionate Listening. We will listen to our stories as well as to Jewish and German survivors. We will tour memorial sites, including the new Holocaust memorial and we will meet and listen to Jewish community members. You will come away with a deep experience of our shared humanity and Compassionate Listening skills applicable in daily conflict situations. 

We invite you to participate in our groundbreaking and heart opening Compassionate Listening delegations to hear each other’s stories and experience our shared humanity. Many people avoid going to Germany as they carry the generational and collective wounds of WWII and the Holocaust. This Compassionate Journey is for those who are ready to cross this bridge - not alone, but together as members of the delegation. It offers a way for healing and for building peace and reconciliation.

PRESENTATIONS/SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

Learn first hand about a heart-opening and profound project that brings Jewish people from all nations together with non-Jewish Germans to do the work of listening, healing and reconciliation. Presented through video, visual images, music and personal stories. The presentation is between one to two hours.
